About Us

Welcome to the Special Missions Rescue webpage! We hope you support our cause. Special Missions Rescue began organizing in 2024 in response to the need for localized flooding response in North Carolina. Witnessing the victims of Camp Mystic, TX, fall victim to historic flooding, and feeling unable to help, a few of us organized and grew to form SMR. Our mission is to fill the gap in water disaster rescue by volunteering and becoming fully trained by several over-qualified agencies. We aim to be a fully certified water rescue volunteer organization, capable of operating anywhere in the lower 48 without needing local resources or assistance.

Join the Rescue Mission

Interested in joining our rescue team? To join the team as a non rescue member, you can be 18 or older. We have needs for rescue swimmers, experienced boat operators, medical staff, logistics support, admin staff, and more. If you'd like to know more about how you can get involved, feel free to contact us and become a part of our dedicated team!

What Makes Us Different

Special Missions Rescue stands out because we can operate anywhere in the lower 48 with any agency that grants us permission to offer our services. We are able to train and gather significantly more experience than most, as we are not bound by jurisdictional limitations. This allows us to maintain a high level of readiness and expertise in various water rescue scenarios.

Our Vision for the Future

Our long-term goals are to be fully self-sustaining, a highly trained, and experienced water rescue team. We aim to have the ability to deploy anywhere in the lower 48 in under 6 hours with a full team, fully equipped, and fully supplied, without any assistance from other local or volunteer agencies. Thank you for your time and any considerations you have. With all due and sincere regards, Chief Nicholas, Founder of Special Missions Rescue.
